falling out

i stand before a mirror and see a monster. "don't leave me waiting for the love i need. oh lord, it's wearing on me." hair shorter than ever and still out of control. what kind of striped, unironed long-sleeve dress shirt do i need to wear? i wear jeans, but don't we all? fine, fine. i'll pull out the khakis, or the dark gray slacks. what in the world to do with these tennis shoes? bought for running, were they? how many times have you used them for that? exactly once. i see...

well, we can come back to that. maybe, mr. man on the side, if you upgraded your ride. or cleaned all that junk out of it. dust off the dash, the displays. sweep out the dirt and rocks and leaf crumbs. change that air freshener, already.

more importantly, though, let's have a look at that heart. whoah! "you give me something that makes me scared, alright." what happened here? this will never do. i mean, seriously, where do you expect to go with that? cracked, exploded, stupid, growing and shrinking without a moments notice. "but i'm good at being uncomfortable so i can't stop changing all the time."

look here, you're better than this. vows or no vows, what kind of words could they have been to move you like this? so you distinctly remember that there are things that you wouldn't like about me? what does that mean, anyway. put on a new shirt, and follow me. we've got some steps to retrace. "i miss that stupid ache." and you haven't eaten all day.

where does your "monsieurs" quote come from? i swear I've seen that somewhere and it's driving me crazy.

plus in keeping with the theme of your booklist, I just thougt i'd throw out that a couple months ago i found "Peter Pan In Kensington Gardens," a prequel of sorts.

"why so silent, good monsieurs? did you think that i had left you for good?" says the phantom of the opera as he disrupts the masquerade to bring his "finish score".

yeah, PPinKG is definately a prequel, as it contains the entire peter and wendy story, but 'the little white bird' is a prequel to both. in fact, it could be argued that most of barrie's books are prequels to peter pan. i'm sure you noticed little hints of it in sentimental tommy...

Hey, Tom, maybe you could be a prof at Plattsburgh one day. It's a pretty cool name anyway. 'Plattsburgh,' not "Tom."
